The first session of Master Classes last July gathered eight young opera singers from different countries to enjoy master classes given by José van Dam, Natalie Dessay and Françoise Pollet. These eight young singers from all kinds of backgrounds have learned a lot about the art of the French Song and their enthusiasm has clearly shown just that. The master classes and the final concert revealed the exceptional level of this course. The large and warm audience was particularly impressed. This has also shown that there is a real desire from the general public’s side to listen to the very rich and sometimes a little neglected French repertoire.
